Teachers

Amanda Foster

Gunwalloe Class

I started my teaching career here at Stithians School back in 1998 when the school looked much different, and I have been fortunate to have taught the reception class throughout this time. I love crafting in my spare time and am always on the lookout for new projects. When I am not crafting, I enjoy reading a good crime book!

Sarah Allen

Marazion Class

I have been teaching year one at Stithians School since qualifying in 2012, and I still absolutely love it! The best part of being a teacher is watching children grow into great little people. In my spare time, I like exploring the outdoors - come rain or shine! I love learning new things and regularly sign up for craft workshops.

Steve Trinder

Sennen Class

I have been teaching for 28 years, half of that time in Hampshire, before returning home to Cornwall. For the last seven years, I have been in Year 2, the last five of which, at Stithians school. In my free time I enjoy fishing, walking and play guitar in a local band. I am married to Mrs Trinder in Porthmeor.

Trevor Manley

Godrevy Class & SENDCo

I qualified in 1996 and my first job was at Stithians covering maternity leave. From 1997, I worked at Weeth School in Camborne but always had a dream of returning here. I love living and working in Stithians and being a part of this great community. I have a love of all things historical, and am a big fan of all types of music too.

Hannah Trinder

Porthmeor Class

I have been teaching Porthmeor Class for the last 12 years since relocating from Hampshire. I have curriculum responsibility for PE, art and outdoor learning which has begun this term with Wild Tribes lessons. I am passionate about being outside and love going out on the water, especially on my paddleboard.

Rich Smith

Kynance Class

I have been working as a teacher since qualifying in 2011. After working in many schools in the Camborne area, I began at Stithians in 2016, initially as supply cover. In my spare time, I enjoy walking and cheering on Plymouth Argyle. I really enjoy being a part of the Stithians community, despite living by the sea in Portreath.

Catie Sleight

Godrevy & Porthmeor Class

I qualified as a teacher in 2015, beginning my teaching career in Cambridge before moving to Cornwall the following year. I taught in schools around Camborne before joining Stithians in 2021. When not at school, I enjoy going to the beach with my family, getting green-fingered down at the allotment and doing a spot of baking!

Megan Cox

Godrevy & Porthmeor Class

I am embarking on my first year of teaching at Stithians, after qualifying from the University of Winchester and working on supply across Cornwall. Alongside this job,
I teach and coach swimming for a local club. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time walking my dog, sea swimming and have recently taken up paddle boarding!
